At our school, we use iPads and have been working with VSCode Education this school year on simple Python programming projects. We haven’t had any serious problems.
However, we’re now having problems, as we’ve started developing web development projects.
When we tried to upload images to the project, the “Upload” button didn’t work. We had to hold down a finger to open the context menu and select the “Upload” option.
An error message was then displayed, and when we selected one of those images, another error message appeared indicating that the binary content of the file could not be displayed.
The options for copying and pasting files, or dragging and dropping files or images into the project, also didn’t work.
Even if a project running on a computer is shared with a web browser other than Safari and opened on an iPad, the images still wouldn’t display (the contents of a binary file are not displayed).
We needed a solution to these problems, as how can a web project be created without images, audio, videos, etc.?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Mariano,
Thanks for posting about this. I tested this on my personal iPad on Safari and Chrome and I see the same issue. This is a valid bug and I’ve gone ahead and reported it to the appropriate teams. We’ll need some time to investigate this, and unfortunately don’t have a workaround at this moment.
We will get back to you as soon as we’ve figured out a workaround or resolve the issue!
